We are pleased to announce the former Prison for Women property, which has sat unchanged for 22 years, will be re-developed into an exciting mixed-use community called Union Park Kingston.
On Nov. 1, 2022, exactly 28 months after the original applications were filed, Kingston City Council approved the necessary rezoning of the property by a 12 to 1 vote. Construction will begin in late 2023 or early 2024.
We would like to thank our neighbours as well as the many community groups and members of the public who attended our public events and provided meaningful feedback through our extensive public consultation process.
We would additionally like to thank the many engineers, planners, heritage consultants, archeologists, architects, communication consultants, and City staff that worked for the last four and a half years on this project. We are excited to be moving on to the next phase.
